Senator Henry J. Ehrenberg founded NEUMO in Knittlingen, Germany in 1947. The company with ingenious ideas soon became a leading component supplier to the food processing industry. Today, NEUMO is a technology leader in fittings, assemblies, containers and equipment made of stainless steel and special materials which are used for fluid handling in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, semiconductor and solar industries. The family-managed company is firmly rooted in the local region and acts as the breeding ground for the NEUMO Ehrenberg Group for a workforce of more than 1,900 worldwide. The main business lines are fluid handling systems, steel tubing wholesale supply and special carbide tools which are marketed under the Vargus brand.
The company was founded in 1947 and began to take shape in the early 1950's. High-grade hygienic couplings for tubing were not yet available at the time. NEUMO developed these couplings and introduced them to the market. NEUMO worked closely with stainless steel producers that supplied forged semi-finished products without blowholes. This type of business relationship was novel and unconventional at the time. The result was better hygiene at dairies, longer shelf-life for dairy products and improvements in the supply chain. At the time, NEUMO was the hygiene standard setter in the food processing industry. In 2016 at NEUMO we decided to enter in the market of Single-Use assemblies and components, the new facilities classified ISO 7 allow us a fast and flexible assembly service.
